Community Based Organization (CBO)

Sinai Unified Organization (SUO) is a Community Based organization (CBO) in Kenya that was established in 2021 and registered as Self-help group (SHG). Later, SUO upgraded into a CBO in 2023. SUO is renowned for the implementation of health programs at scale in the informal settlements of Mukuru, Nairobi Kenya and beyond. Through our vision of “Enabled, Informed and empowered healthy communities”., we remain optimistic and vigilant in designing and implementing innovative health programs in the areas of health, Climate change and livelihood which include; HIV, TB, sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, gender-based violence, mental health, Nutrition and systems strengthening.
Through our thematic areas which are; health, climate change and livelihood we endeavor to strengthen health systems and deliver high-quality health services. We strengthen systems to bridge the gap between communities, facilities, and policies, ensuring the needs of the vulnerable and most marginalized members of society are met.

Enabled, informed and empowered healthy communities
To mobilize the communities, organizations, NGO’s and individuals to share and participate in all aspects of Health, education, agricultural and environmental issues to enhance poverty reduction and improve living standards to the communities.
a) To uplift the educational and economic status of the members and their local communities.
b) To be a forum where members will give each other financial, social, emotional, mental and spiritual support whenever necessary.
c) To mobilize, organize and empower young people to participate in the development, distribution and sharing of information regarding Wellness, Reproductive Health and other development agendas,
d) To acquire property and chattels and do such other things as may be approved by members.
e) To mobilize and organize the youths to participate in income generating activities.
f) To raise or borrow money for all or any of foregoing objectives in search manner and upon such security as may time to time be determined by the group.
g) To transform itself into a co-operative society at an appropriate time.
h) To bridge the gap between communities and health providers.
i) To promote food security to the community through urban farming
j) Prevent new HIV, TB and STI’s infection by creating awareness e.g. Condom demo, championing for PEP, PREP, U=U, referrals services etc.
